J.P Hall and Sons LTD No 4960

This is another one of my favourites which runs at Bradford Industrial Museum and has a great sound to it. It’s a vertical boiler feed pump made by J.P Hall and Sons LTD No 4960 in Peterborough. The pump was used in the boiler house at the Burton Upon Trent Corporation public baths and is now here still going strong running on compressed air for public display.

J.P Hall and Sons LTD No 4960

The steam cylinder diameter is 6 ½” and the water pump plunger is 4 ½” in diameter, with a stroke of 10”. Not too sure on the date but I’d reckon early 1900’s but may be completely wrong if anyone can help me date it? It would be greatly appreciated
